One of the coolest aspects of this entire effort has been the nights when I've painted with others - friends, family, strangers, new friends, roommates, housemates, and maybe hopefully, even you.

to PAINT (and give away FREE) WATERCOLORS every night.

This time last year I probably wouldn't have laughed at you, but I would have thought it at least a bit strange to think that I would soon set out to paint every single day in 2010.
I began Tonight's Watercolor with the intention to make my own "me time" of colorblind creation each night. I invited you to do the same.
And I too, might have said something very similar to the response I've heard more times this year than I can count - when I've offered a brush to others who've been watching me paint on any given night in one of the many homes I've had the pleasure of painting in across the country this year, "Would you like to paint with us?" ...

"What? No thanks. I can't paint."
After a little prodding, some people set out to paint or draw for the first time in a long while ... some said nothing and just took the brush. Some of you jumped right in, eager.
And seeing the brilliant, ridiculous, and inspiring things that you have painted yourselves ... where some of you were fervently apprehensive about picking up a brush at all ... has been a gift to me I won't try to describe.
It's also been truly awesome that many of you have posted photos of my art with you back to the Facebook wall - on your own real walls, on your desks at work, on your Bob Dylan vinyls, framed, wrapped in a jar, on your cork boards, your shelves, refrigerators, and in your hands all around the world.
Seeing art spread is indeed a gift I hope you may experience as well. Something I certainly never anticipated at the start.
