"Aren’t websites expensive? And I don't know code."
Welcome back. In Part I, I outlined why you need a website. Now, let’s talk about how inexpensive, easy to make, and maybe even fun making a website can be. Free or, at most, $10 a year and no ads, anyone? "Aren’t websites expensive? And I don't know code."

For a handful of Tuesdays in the Fall 2009 I was lucky to join a small group of about 10 White House staffers and fellow interns gardening in Michelle Obama's Kitchen Garden on the South Lawn of the White House. Okay, fair enough, gardening for me meant primarily weeding. But still. Awesome. (quick read. mostly photos after the fold)
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." - Pablo Picasso7/22/2014 The following is the memo I wrote to President Obama and the First Lady as part of my successful White House Internship application in 2009.
Part 2: Emergency Window Hammers on the Buses in Gwangju, South Korea - What I'm Doing About It7/13/2014
First, I brought it to the attention of the International Center here, thinking they could at least simply help me cross the language barrier, get the number of the city transportation office, maybe. Nothing. Mild appreciation of my observation, but without a proposal they won't do anything with it. A formal proposal, they want! What's to propose other than "spread the hammers around"? I'm showing you the picture. Send it to City Hall. I don't know, I can't speak Korean. How do you translate a photo to Korean? I didn't say it quite like that. Still, nothing. And so that's how it was for a few weeks. Friends said they noticed it now too, but that was it.
So I email them. And get this response in less than 4 hours! Wow, that's quick bureaucracy. (And I worked in DC politics, I know how slow that train is): Mr/Mrs. LOL. So I respond with the bus number and he sends me this: And that was that.
Cool. We'll see ... So I'm trying to clear my acquired queue of 996 bookmarked articles by reading 10 each day ... as you may be aware. Sure, I haven't always read 10 articles each day. Actually, there have been more days that I haven't read 10 articles than those that I have. And hey, I've even missed a few days all together. Some days, I only added more to this list. (In fact, most of my mornings begin with adding a few new clips.) There are interesting things on the internet. But my success here was in starting. And the process. Because if it takes 4 months - even 5 - instead of the anticipated 3, that's so much better than the undirected never.
