Daily Habits
One good habit that I'm trying to keep up with daily is reading. I love to read.
Unfortunately though, as of three weeks ago, I had amassed a queue of exactly 996 Internet articles that I - at some point - apparently, wished to read. And the realization that my Pocket (great app) was just 4 articles away from showing 4 digits on my phone's home screen was the jolt I needed to take stock of this literary cancer.
So I've set a goal.
And I'd like you to hold me to the fire.
Public accountability works with goals.
(I read that somewhere.)
Public Accountability
It's consistent incremental progress that will clear this beast. Of course, I know already I won't always meet this daily goal. And that's fine. (I do plan to be away for weekends and such, still.) So I've built in some wiggle room to compensate for those inevitable missed days to come - a cumulative safety net for every article over 10.
Better than never; fine with me.
I think this will work. After all, I did successfully fulfill a very public new year's resolution to paint, post and gift a free watercolor every night in 2010. (Remember that wild ride?)
You can comment on the .doc if you actually feel so compelled. (I'd be happy to read your thoughts.) But this is all more so just for me.
