"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." - Pablo Picasso
Trying pastels for the first time at Korea Burn led me to create once again - after quite the hiatus from Tonight's Watercolor - and indirectly led to what would become CREATEandGIFT.org

When was the last time you received a piece of real mail?
Not a bill of course; you know, something you maybe weren't quite expecting, but were super excited to open and read once you saw?
Yesterday I sent some mail.
I had a realization today... a revelation of sorts actually. So naturally, this came to me while in the shower. Yes, really. (Typical, right? Personally, I'm genuinely surprised at how many of my ideas and projects have literally come to me while bathing. It's quite frankly ridiculous. You too?) So in the shower today, I realized that I am a Social Entrepreneur.
Okay, a budding social entrepreneur... with surely a lot to learn, I admit (in fact I look forward to it). I recognize this word has a buzz to be careful of; nonetheless, I feel confident that this will be - that it is - my niche to find in this world. My role to fill.
Tonight's Watercolor - a short reflection on a year of painting and gifting art each night.

Adam's grateful his 20s were a debt-free decade traveling with intention through work with meaning. Some of that work includes TOMS, The Obama White House, teaching abroad, art and business in the Gift Economy, two proud terms of national service with AmeriCorps, and two terms with the US Peace Corps in rural Zambia, working with small-scale fish farmers.
